My Honest Review Simple face wash: Simple Kind to Skin Refreshing Face wash - Best Cleanser for Combination Skin?
If you have combination skin, oily T-zone, dry cheeks, and sensitive patches, like me the hunt for a face wash that balances your skin can seem futile. Well, having finally used this Simple face wash for about six weeks, here is my full in-depth personal review of it-including what it’s made of, how it works for combination skin, and if I’d repurchase it.
What Is Simple Refreshing Face Wash?
Simple Refreshing, This has a gentle soap-free formula with a gel consistency that helps to cleanse your skin of dirt and impurities without removing the natural moisture. It has been developed under Simple’s ‘Kind to Skin’ range. They are popular for their clean formulas.
It is the ideal option for Combination Skin because it is hypoallergenic, dermatologist tested, and free of artificial fragrances and colours (as stated on the facewash container).
It will be easier to describe how this face wash works for combination skin if you are familiar with its ingredients:
The following ingredients are listed on the facewash bottle and used in the product, according to the company:
Aqua is a gel-based substance.
Cocamidopropyl Betaine: A mild surfactant that removes grime and oil without depleting too much moisture.
Panthenol: It aids in skin hydration.
Tocopheryl Acetate: The purest form of vitamin E is tocopherol acetate. enhances the health of the skin.
Glycerin: a moisturizer that helps the skin stay supple after washing.
Other gentle additives include sodium hydroxide (which modifies texture), citric acid (which aids in pH equilibrium), and preservatives like phenoxyethanol for safety.
How this Face Wash Works for Combination Skin:
Since the combination skin has a combination of oily and dry sections, it requires a cleansing product that removes the extra sebum in the T-zone without making the dry areas of the face feel tight and flaky. This face wash meets this requirement in the following ways:
Soap-Free & pH Bal
Being soap-free ensures that it doesn’t remove any oils from your own skin, which is amazing because I have very dry skin on my cheeks. A perfect pH ensures that it doesn’t break your skin’s barrier function.
Hydrating Gel Texture
It doesn’t foam too much, even though it’s a lightweight gel. It rinses clean without drying out – great if you have combination skin that won’t tolerate heavily foaming cleansers.
Hydration & Oil Control Harmony
The pro-vitamin B5 and glycerin work together to gently increase moisture where it’s needed, and the gentle cleanser gently cleans the oilier areas. In other words, it’s just a balancer rather than a cleanser.
“Many online users rave about its benefit to hydrate and regulate oil on T-zone,” according to one reviewer.
My Personal Experience (Combination Skin) with Simple Face Wash:
I began using this face wash each morning and each night following my use of micellar water in cleansing my face before using sunscreen or makeup.
First Week: Right from Day One, my T-zone felt cleaned without stripping, while my cheeks felt soft. The gel form was also invigorating and didn’t cause any irritation on my sensitive areas.
After Two Weeks: I started to realize that the usual pulling sensation after washing was absent. Many gel cleansers would leave my dry areas feeling pulled and tight, but not this one.
After a Month: My skin actually looked more balanced. The oily parts were not greasy by afternoon, and I didn’t experience flakiness on my dried-out cheeks. I didn’t break out or feel tightness, which is a major victory for someone with combination skin that’s constantly shifting between being either dry or greasy.
One Thing to Watch: It’s gentle, meaning it might not be effective in removing heavy or sunscreen by itself. I used to usually apply micellar water first if I had waterproof makeup on.
Benefits & Drawbacks Based on my personal experiences:
Benefits: Because it is gel-based, it is quite light. Aids in preserving skin pH
Maintain hydration but also control’s oil in T-zone.
Drawbacks : It’s not the best cleanser for removing a lot of makeup; you may need to start with a mild makeup remover. Occasionally results in blocked pores.
My Conclusion: If you have combination skin like mine — where balancing hydration and oiliness feels like a juggling act — this face wash is:
Gentle enough for daily use
Hydrating yet effective at cleansing
Suitable for sensitive and non-sensitive combo skin
Great as a morning or second cleanse
Would I repurchase? Yes. It’s simple in formulation but effective in results. It doesn’t feel dramatic or harsh it just works gently to make my skin feel balanced and happy.
